Bound in 2005
Modified simplified binding with leather spine and board
edges. Claire Maziarzcyk pastepaper panels and dyed mica in
cutaway of twins. Hahnemülle Ingres endpapers. Title done
in leather onlays, sharing a common "O," which connects the
twin's umbilical cords.
As I was contemplating and researching the design for this
binding, my wife and I found out she was pregnant with
twins. In what I view as not quite a coincidence, twins
play a prominent role in almost all Native American origin
myths. Taking this as my cue, I couldn't help but design my
binding around this theme.
